Itinerary
DAY 1 - Arrival → Hotel Check-in | Leisure.
DAY 2 - Full Day South Island Tour.
After a satisfying hotel breakfast, set out on a breathtaking full-day South Island Tour — the most scenic and diverse excursion in Mauritius. Your first stop is the sacred Grand Bassin, also known as Ganga Talao — a serene volcanic crater lake considered one of the holiest Hindu sites outside India. Thousands of devotees make an annual pilgrimage here during Maha Shivaratri, carrying holy water on foot. Next, venture into the dramatic Black River Gorges National Park, Mauritius’s largest protected area, where native forests cascade down steep ravines and endemic birds soar above rare ebony trees. The afternoon brings one of Mauritius’s most magical landscapes — the Seven Coloured Earth of Chamarel, a geological wonder where volcanic ash has settled in seven distinct, naturally occurring hues of red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow, creating a surreal and ever-shifting colour palette. End the day at the roaring Chamarel Waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Mauritius, before returning to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
DAY 3 - Full Day North Island Tour.
Following breakfast, embark on a vibrant full-day North Island Tour — a journey through the dynamic, multicultural heart of Mauritius. Begin in Port Louis, the bustling capital city that has been at the crossroads of civilisations since the 18th century. Explore the iconic Caudan Waterfront — a lively waterside complex of boutiques, cafes, jewellery shops, and restaurants set against the backdrop of a working harbour and the Citadel fortress. Immerse yourself in the colourful, aromatic aisles of the Port Louis Central Market, where traders sell everything from fresh tropical fruits and exotic spices to handcrafted souvenirs and colourful textiles. Drive past the Government House, the grand colonial-era Place d’Armes boulevard, and the historic Jummah Mosque — testament to Mauritius’s extraordinarily diverse cultural tapestry of Indian, African, Chinese, French, and British heritage. The North tour offers a fascinating window into how a tiny island nation has crafted a uniquely rich and harmonious identity. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 4 - Ile Aux Cerfs Island | Day at Leisure
DAY 5 - Departure — Farewell Mauritius
After one last leisurely breakfast at the hotel, savour your final moments in this breathtaking island paradise — perhaps a last walk along the shore, watching the Indian Ocean glow in the morning light, or picking up a final memento from a local shop. As per your flight schedule, our driver will collect you from the hotel for a comfortable private transfer to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. As your flight lifts off above the vast blue Indian Ocean, carry with you the vivid colours of the Seven Coloured Earth, the spiritual calm of Grand Bassin, the laughter of Ile Aux Cerfs, and the warmth of Mauritius that never leaves you. Au revoir, Mauritius — until we meet again.

Frequently asked questions
Q1. Do Indian tourists need a visa to visit Mauritius?
Indian passport holders are granted a free visa on arrival in Mauritius for stays of up to 60 days — no advance visa application is required. However, you must carry a valid return ticket, proof of sufficient funds, and confirmed hotel accommodation details at the time of immigration. Entry is generally smooth and straightforward. We recommend always checking the latest entry requirements with the Mauritius High Commission or the official immigration website before travel, as policies can change.
Q2. What is the Seven Coloured Earth of Chamarel and is it really seven colours?
The Seven Coloured Earth (Terres des Sept Couleurs) of Chamarel is one of the world’s most remarkable geological phenomena — a small area of sand dunes and undulating land where volcanic soil has cooled and crystallised into seven distinct natural shades: red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow. The colours shift subtly depending on the light and angle of viewing, and remarkably, the different coloured soils do not intermix even after rainfall. It is one of Mauritius’s most iconic and unmissable attractions, visited on Day 2 of this itinerary.
Q3. How do we get to Ile Aux Cerfs — is the boat transfer included?
Ile Aux Cerfs island is reached by a short 10–15 minute boat ride from the Trou d’Eau Douce jetty on the east coast of Mauritius. The boat transfer to Ile Aux Cerfs is not included in the base package and is payable directly at the jetty (approximately MUR 400–600 per person return). Day 4 is scheduled as a leisure day with the island visit as a recommended activity. Our team can pre-book a boat transfer for you at competitive rates upon request. If you prefer to simply relax at the hotel or explore locally, that is equally fine.
Q4. Is this Mauritius package suitable for a honeymoon?
Mauritius is consistently ranked among the world’s top 5 honeymoon destinations, and this 5-day package is an ideal foundation for a romantic escape. The turquoise lagoons of Ile Aux Cerfs, sunset walks along white-sand beaches, the mystical atmosphere of Grand Bassin at dusk, and the world-class spa and dining options available at Mauritius hotels make for deeply romantic experiences. We offer optional honeymoon enhancements — private sunset dinner on the beach, couple spa packages, room flower decoration, and private boat excursions — please enquire at the time of booking.
Q5. What is the difference between SIC and Private transfers mentioned in this package?
SIC (Seat in Coach) transfers mean you share the vehicle with other travellers on the same tour route — these are used for the South and North Island tours, which follow fixed sightseeing circuits with other guests. Private transfers mean the vehicle is exclusively for your group, with no other passengers — these are used for your airport arrival and departure transfers, ensuring personalised service and flexibility on timing. If you prefer private transfers for the island tours as well, we can upgrade your package accordingly — please ask our team for a customised private tour quotation.
